  7. Mark - how big is the DVD film? Could it be uploaded to an FTP server if I give you the details?

  8. Hi Jules,

The rendered film is a tad under 2 gig.
I suspect far too big to be uploading it anywhere.
Also, the download to view it would take absolutely ages.

I have since deleted all my workings so it cannot be rendered to a smaller size file for web viewing. However, it would still be a massive file for uploading and downloading.

I have never used Nero to make a film.
    I use Pinnacle Sudio 11.
I have sparked up the Nero bit that makes films but I haven't had a go.
It looked a bit complicated and confusing, so I stopped looking, plus I am happy with Pinnacle.

Why are the lads not using Movie Maker in WIndows?
Andy I understand has tried, but I wasn't quite able to understand why he stopped using it.
However, it can be unstable. When I used it in the beginning of my film editing career, I found it to be unstable, yet other people are OK with it.
I suspect it all depends on your PC spec, memory etc.
I have since got a bigger PC, but also moved to Pinacle as it is a better product, but the one thing that Movie Maker has in its favour is it is free and has a massive user base and loads of forums etc, to discuss isuues and the like.

Since I upgraded to Pinnacle 11, I have a copy of Pinnacle Studio 9 that can be used to explore the subject. It does all that you would want and by using it you get to understand the principles of editing, what can and cannot be done and when looking at a new product what to look for, because you now have experience.

Jules, I have your copy of the film ready for postage, I need to send it, did I ask for your address?

I will look for it, if I cannot find it I will ask for it again.

    Gosh, what a big entry.
    I'm all out of breath.

    Regards to all

    Mark.
