The camera drama from last year continues..... Camera is OK, don't worry.
Over the Chritmas period I took the Sony apart.
Every tiny screw was undone and it kind of fell to bits,a most interesting pile of bits and pieces and gubbins (Stuff unidentifiable and not a bit or a piece)
Managed to extract the tape!
But it was snapped. Damm!
So I sellotaped the ends together and tried the tape in the new camera.
As it loaded, the tape, it must have given way on the splicing, I was commanded immediately by the camera to remove the cartridge, I did and one end of the tape is now in the cartridge, the other is presenting itself quite nicely, but without the other end I am a bit knackered.
Upon investigation the cartridge is heat sealed. There are no screws to take it apart.
If any one has any ideas as to how I can solve this knotty problem I would be most grateful.

Hey RD...The casette should prise apart with some care, have done it in the past. You will need to get some proper splicing tape tho'...Maybe Jessops before they go bust...then just tape the cartridge back together...Sorta Sh*t or bust scenario I reckon...DC

Excellent, tape sent off they will repair it and clean the piss off the tape, if it ever had any.
I never told em it was piss, just that it might have got wet.
When are you off Skiing Dave and fer how long?
I have passed the list of Hotels in Le Mans for Le Classic to Jeff who will ask on our behalf if any of them have 3 doubles and 1 x2 singles (Lofty and Jase can share a room, but not a bed), so hopefully we should have some results on that front coming in soon. Big thanks to Jeff for that.

ReplyDeleteHey RD...Sounds like yer problem could be solved...Skiing from 26/1 to 3/2 Week 5...Taking 25 on the trip so Will be Very LARGE. I know the place wellas this is my 11th year there and the people we stay with are family friends...So we mix it with the locals for as long as they can stand us/me ! LOL
