what can i say another great year, thanks to john and skip, i will never bloody be allowed too forget the cheese roll incident {i bloody know i offered you one skip and john} met some great new guys cant remeber there names , and missed some old freinds (not u lofty) best car line up in ages, was strange without all our usual gear but if iam honest it was great too go with no worries just set the tent up and we was ready to go. big thanks too you all for feeding us lol never seen rain like we drove down in and realy enjoyed the wipers packing up and trying too take one off in it, lol we keep up the spanner spirit on friday i very nearly repeated last year and lost the plot but just managed to save myself and skip was pin ball walking by the end of the day lol ,race day was hot an ive not walked that far for a long time! but got too see some new places too watch and big shout too joe ninety best fire works at lemans ever definatly goes too you , and as you might have seen a great field of cars and a great race (up urs peugeot lol) and i agree with skippy come on guys lets have a great turn out next year lets revive the spanner name!!!!!!

next year may even see my little baby at le mans and i do mean my car lol thats if someone does not pull his finger out lol so iam not holding my breath, so come on guys lets make 2011 the biggest ever turn out

Spanner Racing are at Houx Annexe again, thou on a small scale than normal.
Chris has lead by going Sunday, Greig leaves tomorrow (Wed), me and Joung Jase are catching a lift with Jon (Cider hill racing) and tenting it! (Yes tenting it!!)
With Stevie Rees arriving in the small hours of Thursday morning,along with Kevin & his gang.
So at our usual place,along with the rain on sat...

Dear Honourable members,

Just a swift line or twoto report status of the healing process.

Lower leg.

I think its healing.

Must be.

Walking better, but the fracure still aches and gives grief when I am on it too long.

So vertical and locomoting, but not chasing anything yet.

Shoulder/right arm.

Had another op on Feb 3rd.

Redid the presentation of the ball to the arm, bone graft from right hip and some magic pixie dust to promote bone growth, cos that wasn't happening from the first op.

In Physio now, not too much movement, but hopefully Phys will give a little bit more.

Dr is talking another op later in the year to get more movement.

Hope to get back on a bike later in the year, but a small one.

Start off on a scooter,then a 650 maybe, the 1200 GS and replacement duc will have to wait till next year now.

Le Mans 2010; well I wish all those that are going this year a good trip.

Sadly Marsty and I won't be there.

And the Classic is probaly a no go too.

This bloody accident was a bad one, I dont think I realised the extent of the injuries and the duration of the healing process.

The lawyers are still arguing and waiting for different reports from the cops and the NHS.

Amazing isnt it, they are all waiting for info from the people who I pay with my taxes!!!

Camping in June is booked! Although we are a little light in crew this year, are friends at first tickets have got us are annual bit of french soil for the week.
The car line up looks the best it has in years,Nigel & his boys, Jags are back & the Spyker is back!Oh nearly forgot the Lambo is going back to try and do more than 6 laps...
Any members feel like a last min change of mind & don't mind tenting it,there is space available.
There will be a Little creature comforts,but not as wot you are use too. (Sorry)Hoping normal service will be resumed 2011, where it would be nice for a big team gathering ? Give it some thought!!

News on the injuries..dit, dit, dah, dah.

Leg healing well, at last.
Walking with a stick, but I don't need it, now, really, just for show and for whenever I catch a crab and have to have a securing point.
Shoulder is to be operated on again in January, early I hope so as to begin the healing process early.
Gotta be on a bike again in 2010, the sun starts shining in April.

Once again, many thanks to all the team, made me giggle.
And big thanks to the Milsy for buying me the 'T shirt'.

Happy Xmas everyone, congrats to Chips and Emma on the new addition to the family.
I've just been getting the horsebox ready for xmas as we are off to Suffolk for crimbo snow permitting! Our lad is off to Afghanistan again shortly so we are going to be staying with him for a few days too while we are over that way.
Has anyone seen the news about Brittany ferries? it seems the Barfleur is being withdrawn from the Poole Cherbourg route so only fast cat service which means I cant get the horsebox...... bugger will have to go via Pompey.

I'm just looking into going to the 12hrs of Sebring 17-21/3/10 anyone else going?

OK, its that time again.
I would like to just put you in the picture to whats going on next year.
Due to nearly being double booked,i regretfully have to say i will not be able to go for the full week next year.But i don't want to miss our pilgrimage across the channel.
So Ive spoken to Lofty & Jason and they are in the same position! So we are proposing to catch the Thursday night ferry,to get there as early as we can on Friday.(This might change,its along way off at the mo) & come home on Sunday before the finish of the race.! & this means we'd be going in a car & not in the support LDV'S.So that will mean all the large equipment would not be going either.Sorry!
But am more than happy to carry on and sort the booking out for those that still want to go ,which i hope you will all still?
So those wanting a permit for camping,can you please let me know asap and ill send the form off.
PS. Chris! Have been trying to ring you,if you get a min give us a ring...

Spanner 4x4 Team - Update

Hi peeps

Was out last weekend at Abingdon 4x4 Festival and thought I would put the Disco through it's paces....

The outcome wasn't that good though!!!!

Broken rear shocker, popped spring but still attempted the mud run.... and I didn't make it so I now have as much mud inside as outside so trying to dry it out before this weekends London 2 Brighton

Other pic is a mate who bobtailed his Disco - took 2 years and cost £16K - looks the nuts through

Hi every one, as suggested by Skip a couple of piccy's of joe 90's foot. Apparently the French did'nt give the correct treatment or advice and is still in Chertsey hospital. He has been there since our return from Lemons.

Help is needed in sourcing a LDV (CONVOY) Model of van.Left hand loading/sliding door,I need the lock,handle inside & out,catch and metal bars that join it all together.
Ive got a new door but cannot fit it without these parts!!!

Well lets say what a eventful trip from start to end.
First of all. On behalf of all of the team,inc the reserves.Wish Jason & family, That Ruby has a speedy recovery and all home soon.

Many thanks for your best wishes.
I shall not be attending this year, I fear my injuries are too great and I will be too weak.

However. I wish all who are attending a`fine week preceding and an even better weekend. I will be watching from afar and my thoughts will be with you.

I am at home now, got home on Monday 11th at about 20.00hrs. What a great sight after nearly 3 weeks away.
Marsty is`well pleased, she is such a good person.
I am completely buggared for another 4 weeks till the 6 week no load bearing period runs out for both shoulder and leg, all damage done to the left hand side.
Wheel chair and bed bound.
Not nice.

So anyway, things could have been worse.

Trailer Update

Here we are then,just a note to show everyone how things are progressing.She had her first coat of paint today,( & the only way i can describe that !) is it was like painting it with treacle.Cant wait to put the next two coats on.
News Flash! I believe that the Silver Dream Machine is not far of running and moving under the power of her new engine,I'm sure lofty will keep us updated on that,as it happens.

I had a phone call to day from Mrs Race Director (Marsey)
She has informed me that Mark (Race director) has been involved in a motorcycle accident!
And from what i gather not in a good way,with leg and shoulder injury's.And instead of getting ready for June,he ll be seeing rather a lot of hospital walls and crutches for a while.
Hope you are on the mend soon mate....It wont be the same across the channel without you.
(we will have to send Jason on a camera course)

Not long to go now,and we are still on the hunt for a boiler ! (Chris, this is where we need your scavenging skills !)
